Milestone Walks

Packhorse road on Slaithwaite walkOn this page you will find links to lots of varied walks in Yorkshire featuring milestones or other waymarkers.  Some have been developed by our members and are to be found, with some for other parts of the country, on the Milestone Society website.  These can also be seen as pdf files, which you can conveniently print off.  Some have been prepared by other organisations, such as local history or civic societies.  All have been thoroughly tested, but please remember that footpath features can change over time; no liability can be accepted for any inaccuracies or omissions.

When you are walking, please be prepared for adverse weather conditions or slippery ground under-foot; wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and always carry a drink and a snack. If you are standing by the roadside admiring a milepost, remember that vehicles may not see you easily, especially if there is long vegetation.  Please honour the Countryside Code, which is designed to help us all to respect, protect and enjoy our countryside.
